“Women In photography” is not very a much talked about topic in Africa. As an African woman with a passion for images and storytelling, Chantal Edie narrates her career path on this edition of the Shirlma show!
Chantal Edie is a co-founder of Studio Xl( a creative agency) a visual artist, an activist for the underprivileged (women facing discrimination, domestic violence, political mishaps, etc).
She holds a Master 1 in political science, a BA in history and an HND in health and social care in England. She developed her photography skills at a media workshop in Southampton. Chantal is the founder of “African woman in photography”, an online platform celebrating the works of African female photographers.
With a not very pleasant past and the difficulties she faces in a male-dominated industry, Chantal has succeeded in making a name for herself as one of the most sort out female African photographers.
